Trattoria da Franco has been the most successful restaurant in Old Town for the past 25 years. The excellence and vast experience of its award-winning executive chef and owner, Franco Abruzzetti, guarantees great taste and high quality of any dish in this restaurant.  It is the home of traditional Roman cuisine, as many politicians from Capitol Hill and famous celebrities have discovered. For those who love the special blend of atmosphere, cuisine and Italian wines, Franco provides a total experience.

The food is delicious, "The taste is wonderful and the execution of what is on the menu is perfect," comments the costumers and visitors. "Don't be shy about asking the ever friendly and attentive service for dish recommendations and definitely check out the specials!" they advise. If there's a special Italian dish not present on the menu, you can ask for special preparation from the chef. "This menu is only a suggestion," the owner always tells.

The pasta served at Trattoria da Franco is all home made, as is the Italian bread that compliments every meal. Each dish is served whith pasta or vegetables. All vegetables, meat, fish and chicken are fresh and a personally selected by Franco. It's a question of honor for this chef de cuisine, who selects market fresh products daily.  Wine quality is at the optimum level here, an important detail assessed by Franco as well.  

Located in the heart of Old Town, Alexandria, Trattoria da Franco's three floor building, is around 300 years old, one of the many attractive qualities of this restaurant. Many people initially are drawn by the charm and excitement of this authentically European feeling row house restaurant that has lighted trees and out door seating. "We were lured in when we stepped inside" comments Jennifer from Arlington. "The fireplace, the live piano, tables adorned with roses, lace curtains, all the candlelight beg anyone who arrives to enjoy their dining experience," she says.

Live piano and a monthly Opera Night includes a special dinner buffet, house wine and excellent performers have for the last 10 years entertained visitors.  He always brings great artists to sing and play piano, guitars which is joined with a glass of wine and good friends.
